Theory about the corpse Varric is standing over:

It is in fact: no one. That we know, at least. Guys, it was just a random body. However, I did think it was significant that they showed Varric in the way that they did, and especially what was said before his appearance:

“None shall be untouched by the fires above.”

Everyone, whether mage or templar or neutral, is or will be affected by this war. This perfectly relates to Varric’s character, because throughout all of DA2, he is a voice of neutrality, the middle way, neither nor. He’s a friend to all of the party members, no matter how they choose to align themselves.

Merrill: How do you do it, living in the city without picking a side? Doesn’t it matter to you?

Varric: Of course it does. That’s why I don’t take sides.

Merrill: That doesn’t make any sense.

Varric: I’ve got you and Aveline, Fenris and Anders. Hawke. Isabela.

Varric: I’ve got friends in the Circle and drinking buddies in the Templars. All of them matter.

And at the end:

Varric: I think I’m sick of mages and Templars.

Through Varric, they’re showing the “human” faces of all involved and the reality of pain and death this conflict has caused and the loss of life. Mage or Templar, he doesn’t care. They all matter.

BLESS THIS POST.

THANK YOU

Grey Wardens in Dragon Age 3

“There’s this thing about Anders we were planning… man, I wish I could tell you about it. I won’t, because it’s possible we might resurrect it (perhaps in a different form), but every time it comes up in the Writers Pit we all laugh and laugh and laugh. It’s evil laughter. It feels good. Trust me, you’re probably better off not knowing.”

David Gaider, On Planning Ahead

so basically his life force is supported by the agonized tooth gnashing of bioware fans i guess?

drathe:

Connor Guerrin in Dragon Age III

I believe that he will make appearance in DA3. Why? Deciding about his fate was too important in DAO, and we had to import the informations about what happened with Connor to DA2. At the end of DA2 he was around 20 years old.

PERFECT COMPANION TO DA3, OR EVEN LOVE INTEREST.

…come on, you know you’d hit on Connor.

Given that there is already a precedent in these games for canonically un-murdering people who previously might have gotten very dead, I could see this. I suspect I’d like it too, although if Connor turned out to be yet another look how clever he is! Rhys cardboard cutout type I would have a great big pout instead.

wait—wait—-GREY WARDEN??

GREY WARDEN

If the PC isn’t a Warden, I will happily settle for one regular partymember who is an active Grey Warden. I love the idea of having a Warden in a largely civilian party because the Grey Wardens as an organization seem to be, on the whole, incredibly insular- and for good reason, given the necessity of protecting their secrets from a society that would undoubtedly condemn their activities if the details of their order became known. I’d love to see, in canon, the behavior of a socially isolated Warden. They always seem to travel in packs, let’s cull one from the herd and see what happens.

Let’s make a deal, Bioware

You make Cullen a romanceable character in DA3 and I’ll love you forever.
